Engagement Shoot (3): Purpose

In the last post (here), I provided a picture to hint one of the purposes for our engagement shoot. Well, aside for keepsake and display at the wedding, we wanted to use a few of our pictures as table numbers.

Originally, I was going to use images of famous/historical landmarks in Asia such as the Temples of Angkor, Great Wall of China, Forbidden City and Changdeokgung Palace; similar to below:

But I decided our pictures would give more personalization. Here's the ending result:

In the wedding recap post, I will show how it displayed on the table with everything else!

Engagement Shoot (2)

Who doesn't like to play dress up?

The engagement shoot was our (actually my) dress up fun moment. Looking for the attire was a task because we were going for two looks, one for our ordinary couple shots and the other to with the travel theme. As I mentioned before (here), we took our pictures close the wedding date because we had plans for the portraits.

Two looks, one day... Our photographer Natasha (asst. Sandra) & hairstylist/make-up artist Tamara were awesome!! Even our dog Neo was well behaved. Everything from picking the attire to the location served its purpose; I think I enjoyed it a little too much!!

Location: Lake Eola Park & Downtown Orlando, FL

Lake Eola has a Chinese Pergoda, so of course I wanted shots with this Asian architecture in the background.

 nice walk path

beautiful flowers/vegetation

gorgeous backdrop

3 mins away from the park...travel theme begins! The train was a great backdrop (though one can't travel to Asia via train, but you get it :-)

we had to put our cool vintage old camera to use...

Someone was having way too much fun, lol!

Here's a hint for the final purpose of our shoot.

Post is getting too long so I'll leave the remaining for later :-)

What's in a Name?

Seriously, what's in a name? I make bank transfers  (even thru mobile device), use my credit card, file my taxes, look at my credit report and more online but I can't change my name!

Let me clarify that I am a traditionalist and would like to have my husbands last name (sort of :-). Though, I am going to miss using the term "Holy Flower" (Saint-Fleur).  That piece of paper we proudly received making it official wasn't fully the whole deal. Unfortunately, getting my new name on the marriage license isn't enough.

The process:
  • Original Marriage License
  • Social Security Office
  • DMV
  • Bank
After making those trips above:
  • Credit Cards
  • Voter Registration
  • Passport (keeping my old one :-)
  • Post Office
  • Insurance and more!
This is how far my name change has made it:

In my mind

oh, and Social Networks:

Whether I change to Makerbie Rema or Makerbie St.Fleur-Rema, point is that I wish I didn’t have to make trips to certain offices to make it official.  With that said, I have no choice...sigh!
